About me

Hello Human was founded in 2023 as an umbrella brand to offer my freelance services.

My husband and I in Kūaotunu, Coromandel.

I trained at CPIT as a graphic designer, but while working in the field, I realised I wanted to understand how projects operate at a higher level. I was naturally drawn to marketing and subsequently digital marketing, recognising it as the direction of the future.

Adventure, creativity, and whānau are core pillars of my life, and running my own business enables me to find a beautiful balance between life and work. With an entrepreneurial spirit, I’ve been interested in running my own small business since I was young. I love that my work now allows me to collaborate closely with many different and talented entrepreneurs to help them achieve their business goals.

While many of my clients are based in Tāmaki Makaurau, where I am located, I have connections and a fondness for every part of Aotearoa, having grown up in the South Island and spent many years living in Wellington. I am always willing to discuss projects, regardless of the geographical location.

My process

I ask all my clients to thoroughly explore my website to gain a comprehensive understanding of who I am and the services I offer, including reviewing my pricing and packages page. Should you wish to proceed, the next step typically involves meeting for a coffee (either online or in person!). After our initial meeting, I will send you a customer questionnaire. This questionnaire will provide me with the necessary information to provide you with a more precise quote for your project. The quote will outline the project scope and any discussed time constraints.

Following this initial stage, the subsequent steps will be project-specific, but generally, they will follow a model where a concept or content theme is agreed upon before proceeding to develop the design or the full piece of work.

My personal assistant, Stevie.

Who I work with

Whether by intention or not, I’ve naturally gravitated towards creative individuals. I believe that creativity is essentially a problem-solving exercise. Therefore, whether you’re an artist or an accountant, we all exhibit creativity in our unique ways.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with a diverse range of clients, including partners in large organizations, CEOs of small non-profits, founders of startups, and everything in between. Some of my clients value confidentiality in project details, with some requesting the signing of non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) which I am used to.

As I work independently, I carefully choose my clients. If I sense that a project isn’t the right fit, or if I know someone who would be a better match, I’m more than willing to make a referral.

I work best with people and businesses that:

  • Have an open mind to new ideas or ways of doing things.
  • Treat people with kindness and respect.
  • Can clearly communicate themselves and are respectful of boundaries.
  • Have a clear idea of their purpose and goals.
  • Foster a positive, can do attitude.

Sound like we could be a good fit?
